Giant Brass Kaleidoscope - 28 cm Optical Art Sculpture
Giant Brass Kaleidoscope - 28 cm Optical Art Sculpture
A 28 cm brass kaleidoscope - the longest instrument in the Studio Yabaye range. A 3-mirror first-surface system views a rotating object cell holding hand-selected crystals and semi-precious stones, so the pattern changes as the cell turns.
The length gives a steady, two-handed viewing position, and the instrument rests on a hand-built wooden display stand between uses. Signed and numbered as a limited gallery edition. Brass is the traditional material for a 7th wedding anniversary, and the Giant is also specified as a desk or shelf object for executive offices.
Designed and built by architect Rocco (Roi) Ramon in the Studio Yabaye workshop in Israel, from brass tube, cut, fitted and hand-polished.
